Seven Ways To Meet Someone Offline

Tinder, Happn, eHarmony, rsvp, Match… Today, there is an endless array of apps and sites where you can meet someone.

Are you tired of these, and instead want to meet someone without the help of technology?

Here are my top tips for finding love offline.

Caffeine fix

Whether it is the person making your coffee or another customer waiting for theirs, the place where you get your coffee every morning is the perfect place to start chitchatting to someone and can soon be part of your morning routine. There is something about coffee that's a little spicy or sexy. It’s about sharing, smelling, tasting and experiencing, which is a bit like falling in love.

Downsize your screen time

By being fixated by our screens, we run the risk of missing the chance to connect with people around us. So whether you’re on the bus, waiting for your lunch to be ready or having a coffee, look up from your phone. You might soon see a twinkle in someone’s eyes, smile in return and strike up a conversation.

Child’s play

If you have children, chat with other parents at day care, school or at the park. You never know, one of them just may be single. I’ve found that this is the most common way singles with children meet their partner.

Become a ‘Yes’ man or woman

It is scary to put yourself out there, but that is the only way you are going to meet someone. So set your mindset to accept (almost) anything that comes your way –dinner parties, after work drinks or community events. Staying home in your PJs eating ice cream may feel safe and cosy, but getting out there will help you feel more alive and attract that special someone.

Smile

It sounds simple, but a smile can say so much. It can light up your face, express your personality and give you a confident look that can help signal a positive and attractive vibe.

Match making

Let your good friends – those who know you and what’s best for you - know that you are looking for love. Many people meet through friends, so it’s a great way to find that someone special.

Boost your confidence

It is easy to start to forget how fabulous you are when you have been single for a long time. A good therapist can help you stay confident and won’t let self-esteem issues creep in too strongly, which can sabotage your ability to attract someone.
